Our January Putt took us to an open house at John and Helen’s garage. We also invited the members of the Southwest Street Rods to join us for food and refreshments. It was a great chance for our clubs to get together and socialize. There were 41 members and 31 guests in attendance. There was a total of 71 cars. What a great turnout!

Quite a few members took in the check presentation to Spencer’s Place. The money was raised at the silent auction during our annual Christmas Party.

The staff all came outside after the check presentation to view all the cars and George picked his favorite car, which turned out to be mine!

For those that don’t know:

“Spencer’s Place is a project created in partnership with Employed and Overjoyed Foundation to introduce equal employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Spencer’s Place provides adults with disabilities job training and direct skill development to earn a paycheck, build relationships, gain a sense of purpose, and show the community the beauty of diversity and inclusion.”

2026 New Years Day Breakfast

Kimmyz’s on Greenway, Glendale, AZ

January 1, 2026 marked the date of John Logsdon and Ron Boen’s 100th annual breakfast cruise. Okay maybe 100 is a bit of an exaggeration, it was only the 25th Annual, oops that’s a lie too! It was actually our 11th annual (that’s the truth). The weather threatened rain but a few of us hardy souls dragged out our street rods for the event.
The Cruise was held at Kimmyz On Greenway for the second or third year, I can’t remember. As always, the food and service were great.  We had 95 people attend from all over the valley. This event includes rodders from all over the Phoenix area not just specific clubs. It’s so much fun to gather with these folks that we don’t get to see that often.
If you missed it mark your calendar now for next New Year’s Day.

2025 Christmas Party

Kudos to Chef Peter’s Bistro in Sun Village!  There were 42 of our members in attendance and I think a good time was had by all!  Chef Peter’s did an outstanding job with a delicious meal in the newly opened facility in Sun Village and the wait staff did an excellent job making sure we were happy.  We were entertained by Reboot the Band, an excellent 5 piece ensemble that played a great mix of oldies and country.  The highlight of the evening was the silent auction to benefit the Employed and Overjoyed Foundation which supports Spencer’s Place.  The auction was a huge success netting $4,470 to be donated to the foundation on January 12.

Many thanks to so many of our members who donated items to the auction, helped secure donations from the community, and certainly to the huge crew who showed up early to help set up and/or stay late to help clean up
